ARCHIVE STUDIO
Archive Studio is a design studio creating durable ceramics for everyday use.
“Start small, grow slowly.”
That is our philosophy. We gradually expand our archive of ceramics, ensuring that every new piece integrates naturally with the existing collection.
Our products are produced in small batches. As a result, some items may occasionally be out of stock for a longer period. If you would like to be notified when new batches become available, please subscribe to our newsletter. We only send emails when a new batch is released or when a pre-sale starts.
THE CERAMICS
Archive Studio ceramics are made from high-quality stoneware and designed for everyday use.
Each piece combines a raw, unglazed exterior with a glazed interior. The outside preserves the natural texture of the clay, while the glazed interior protects the product and makes it suitable for daily use.
Because every item is handmade and fired under slightly different conditions in the kiln, subtle variations in size and colour may occur. These small differences make each piece unique.
The ceramics are fired at 1,250 °C, which makes the clay dense, durable and strong. All products are dishwasher safe.
All Archive Studio ceramics are food safe. The products have been tested for the release of lead and cadmium and comply with European standards.
DURABILITY
Archive Studio ceramics are produced in North Vietnam and shipped by container from Haiphong to Rotterdam.
Maintaining a long-term collaboration with our workshop in Vietnam is important to us. It supports continuity for both sides and builds on a tradition of craftsmanship in a region where refined tableware has been produced for centuries.
Stoneware ceramics fired at high temperatures are exceptionally strong and durable. This allows our products to last significantly longer than items made from materials such as earthenware.
We also continue to reduce the environmental impact of our production and transport. One important step was eliminating the thick polystyrene foam previously used to protect our products. It has been replaced by a thin layer of cardboard, allowing us to transport 20% more products within the same container.
Once the products arrive in the Netherlands, we repack them ourselves using only existing and reused materials.
THE MAKERS
After working in Sweden and Spain for more than six years for multinational organisations, Lynn and Wouter decided to build their own brand.
“We wanted to create our own products with sustainability, quality and craftsmanship as guiding principles.
Ceramics allow these values to come together naturally. Our products are designed to last a lifetime, and everyday moments can feel more special when enjoyed from a beautifully crafted object.”
